KATE HUFFMAN
Superintendent/Principal

Kate Huffman has served as the Superintendent/Principal of Mt. Baldy School since 2023, a role that combines her passion for public education with her strong commitment to the local community. Ms. Huffman began her teaching journey after earning her credential. Before joining Mt. Baldy School, she taught in the Ontario-Montclair School District, where she gained valuable experience in education leadership. She started her career as a classroom teacher before transitioning into leadership roles.

Mrs. Huffman believes in a well-rounded approach to student learning, using multiple measures to assess progress toward academic goals. She also values outdoor learning, recognizing that it enhances mental and physical well-being, fosters a connection with nature, improves social skills, and boosts engagement and retention, ultimately helping students become more well-rounded and resilient individuals. As the leader of a single-school district, she takes great pride in personally knowing each student and understanding their unique experiences, both academically and emotionally.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Huffman has a deep personal connection to Mt. Baldy—her children are third-generation Mt. Baldy School students, further strengthening her ties to the community. On weekends, she enjoys exploring the San Gabriel Mountains with her husband and three young daughters.
